 In our family we call water, Wawa. The ocean waves, Anna Nana taught you is, "big Wawa." A couple of months ago, you were scared to step foot on the sand.  Today, thanks to Anna Nanna acclimatizing you to the beach, you held my hand as the waves crashed onto you up to your waist. Granted, these are very timid and small waves, but you stood there briefly and wanted to jettison my hand so that you could face them on your own. Which you did. I'm so proud of you. And there was a moment, when you were walking back towards sure that you fell down. In the past you would have cried ... But today you just pick yourself up, and walked on. Very proud of you. 

  Sammy my boy, here you are, dunking a basketball for the first time. I'm looking forward to watching you do it on a 10 foot rim.  You absolutely love sports, and you spend your entire day, kicking balls and throwing them into baskets. If you aren't an athlete, I'll be shocked. Love you so much 

  You love your Mommy and for very good reason! Look at the two of you. The oldest archetype - Mother and son. 

 When you were born, both of your testes had descended, but your scrotum was full of water. They told us that that would disappear over time, but it kept growing, so a little over a week ago, we took you to have a surgery here in Puerto Vallarta. Mommy wasn't certain about the doctor, Dr. Alberto Valenzuela, but he seems to have done a wonderful job. Where before your scrotum was full of water and very elongated, and putting pressure on your testes, it has since shrunk, and hopefully will never come back, and you'll never know about it other than the small scar that you will have in your lower abdomen.  We love you very much, and we always will do what is best for you. Know that. 

 You're amazing Nanny, Anna Nanna, coined the term "Toom," to mean the act of throwing a rock into the water, and the sound it makes when it collides with the surface. Here is a video of you playing "Toom" with me. 

 You are very likely going to be a soccer star, your interest and kicking balls on a continual basis and your practice at the age of one simply incredible. Here you are kicking the ball back to mommy. 

  sammy, it's the first time I've ever seen you on a scooter. Hear you're amazing Nanny, Anna, is pushing you around on your scooter. It's really amazing, and she loves you very much, and you're very lucky to have her.
